Who Are We?

The Bolt Team Is comprised of a bunch of normal people, just like you.

We drink beers and eat pizza just like you.
We live in the real world, where 3 hours of exercise every day is not a reality.
We have gone through our own struggles with fitness, nutrition, and weight loss.

We aren’t magazine models…but we’re doing alright.
What separates us from the rest of the world, is that we have dedicated our entire lives to figuring out the best way to navigate this health and fitness stuff. On top of the countless hours of formal education (we all have degrees in the field) and even more hours of continuing education (an hour a day, every day, forever…), we’ve spent thousands of hours coaching people of all ages, weights, colors, and backgrounds on how to create healthier lifestyles.
We’ve seen it all. We’ve seen the fads come and go. We’ve seen people succeed, and seen people fail.
We have no agenda. We don’t push any products. We aren’t married to any one particular method. It’s not “our way” or the highway. 
All we want is for you to figure out what works for you.

Our History

Michael Baker is a Fitness and Physical Preparation Specialist with a mission to guide adults and athletes to become the best version of themselves through fitness and performance training.

 Mike was a typical underachiever in his young life. While some may have perceived him as lazy, it was actually a lack of self-confidence that prevented Mike from setting higher standards for himself. The fear of failure overshadowed his drive to succeed.

 Mike found fitness as an outlet at 18 years old. It did not happen quickly, but as results started to come in the gym, his life outside the gym started to improve. He was able to take on challenges he would never have dreamed of as a young man. Over time, as he continued to become a better version of himself, Mike discovered that his calling in life was to help others do the same through the only outlet he ever knew – Fitness and Performance.

 Mike holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from Bloomsburg University.  He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and is FMS Level 1 certified. Mike has nearly 10,000 hours of training experience and has worked with hundreds of clients of ranging from 9-90 years old, including over 100 division 1 female and male athletes, dozens of NFL veterans and prospects, and his own mother.

Gerald Tamburro is a second career entrant into the fitness business and is a Certified Personal Trainer. Following his lifelong passion for fitness and exercise, Gerry co-founded BOLT Fitness and Performance in 2016 after a career in the Financial Markets, including 4 years abroad in London. BOLT was established with the primary mission to create a program and community designed to help individuals of all ages and fitness levels achieve their individual goals.

Gerry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from Rutgers University. He holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and a personal training certificate from the American Council on Exercise. Gerry is an avid long-distance bicycle rider and has completed four 100+ mile rides known as the Gran Fondo which translates into English as “Big Ride”.
